[Copy of the Stormhoek Geek dinner print- we're sending out 1,000 signed copies witht the event etc. Click on image to enlarge/download/print etc. Licensing terms here etc.]
The first Stormhoek Geek Dinner happened last night, apparently. Still waiting for reports [America is still asleep as I write this]. Thanks to Kami for making it happen.
Meanwhile, here's an interesting development from PJammer:
Response to the Stormhoek wine-tasting event is going extremely well; RSVP now stands at 95 attendees as of 06:45, May 1, 2006. In addition to a fun-packed evening of wine and conversation, attendees will enjoy live acapella music, courtesy of the Stanford Harmonics. Question for the audience: I am now seeking an MC/Hostess for the evening to help me run things from the front end. Does anybody know a reliable, charismatic actress in the Bay Area who can fulfill MC duties that I can hire for the evening? Prefer somebody with an established acting portfolio (and has a demo reel), as well as solid referrals. If you are, or know somebody who fits the bill, please contact me at [my username] @gmail.com with resume/headshots.All very exciting... Posted by hugh macleod at May 2, 2006 9:09 AM | TrackBack
don't you just love the way the Americans turn a social into a formal thingy?
Posted by: Dennis Howlett at May 2, 2006 2:26 PMIt happened, it was great and I even have some audio. We ended up with eight folks (we had a few no shows). Alan should be uploaded some photos to Flickr soon as well.
I will update more in my blog later.
The wine was very good, by the way. We enjoyed it, and talked about the campaign too. Hey, we are techie, marketing and PR people, what would you expect? ;-)
Oh, and we left a bottle for the General Manager of Central Market, so you might want to follow up.
Posted by: Kami Huyse at May 2, 2006 2:40 PMDon't you just love how people are so quick to generalize stereotypes about Americans from a small dataset?
