music i.p. is live

tiger tiger.jpg

From Rick Segal:

www.musicip.com is now live and the fun is beginning down in Austin. Being in Germany, I’ve raised a beer in toast to the team for an outstanding job getting ready for the show.

If you own a bunch of music on your computer, want to maximize the enjoyment of you collection and discover new music, please down load the application. Let me know what you think.

If you are an artist, you will find that MusicIP is a great way to get your band/music into the system and discovered by more fans.

I was all ready to love them, then I read this:

"MusicIP is the axis of the digital-music technology ecosystem with scalable services and products for every major industry niche."

Plain English, do you speak it? Who writes this kind of rubbish.

Hey Andreas -

I'm Rachel, part of the MusicIP team. Yes, there is a fine line between corporate speak and the way "normal" people talk. We're still working on trying to improve the website and try to get our message across without going on and on for paragraphs and pages.

In a nutshell, MusicIP is here to offer solutions for listeners, musicians and business people. For listeners, we have a mixer that will help them to make instant custom playlists from their personal collection of music, as well as discover new music that they might enjoy as well. *All based on acoustic algorithms*. For musicians, we have a service called ListenerLink that is brand new as of SXSW - to allow musicians at all levels of experience to gain additional exposure. At the business level, we have an open source open data identification service that you can find at musicdns.org.

We value your feedback, and I'd appreciate it very much if you let me know about anything else you like/don't like/could see room for improvement. Either a comment back here on Hugh's blog, or an email to me (rachel @musicip.com) would be great, and incredibly helpful.

um... I'm not a literature buff, but I think that in blake's poem he spells tiger: "tyger"
