me yakkin' on about "social objects"

[Neville has the backstory here. About 4-5 minutes long...]

"It's not the object that's important, it's the conversations that go around it".
Mark Earls pipes in:
"The future of marketing" indeed. It's not what you (brand, ad) do to them that matters, it's what they do to each other.

That makes perfect sense.

Hugh, that was excellent. It was great to see you in your element and advancing your story with your art. Fun stuff!

What is interesting to note is that while movement is good with a live audience, it makes you dizzy when you watch it on video ;-) You were easier to follow when you slowed down your rhythm towards the middle-end of the conversation.

I'm sure I do the same. In fact, I know I need to remember to slow myself down in the beginning and use strategic pauses to drive the message home. Particularly helpful to think of verb (action) tied to object.

Hi Hugh

Great stuff.... i always find the best presenters (even the "best man" at a wedding) are those that walk the room, those that have movement, those that ask the audience questions/interact with the audience... so well done...

It's nice to see you take the message out there and i think the point about the conversations that form around the social object is a very important one....
Give me a call tomorrow... i'm thinking about something like this for an innovations conference....etc. (you know where i'm coming from!)

Social Objects! This makes the Ethnomethodologist in me shout for joy! People are starting to get that objects(nouns)are NOT enough! Conversation and interaction are key.
