every day is henry day

henryrollins652.jpg

I suppose when the only celebrity you really like these days is Henry Rollins, you have reason to be cheerful. Here's some good Henry clips I found on YouTube. Enjoy:

1. "Liar". A deliciously dark and disturbing music video from the early 'nineties.

2. A Love Letter to Anne Coulter. Hilarious.

3. Henry Rollins rants on dating. Wonderful.

4. Dutch interview of Rollins circa 1995. Rollins at his most distilled.

What makes Rollins interesting to me is that he's such a complex and unlikely mash-up of various personae: weightlifter, punk rocker, writer, performance artist, TV presenter, book publisher etc. And at the not-so-tender age of 46, he's till pushing himself. Gives people like me hope. Rock on, Henry.

[Bonus Link:] Apparently, this writer has a vagina. Love the concept. Very cool etc.

Henry Rocks!

Thanks for the introduction. I got to admit I never heard of him. But, that is not a big deal, because I don't follow celebrities.

I enjoyed his bit on "dating". I like the part about finding someone who can teach you something and have a sense of humor. What I would give to find someone intelligent and doesn't feel threatened when I drop the dumb blonde thing and occasional looks in my eyes when we are talking.

Rollins is the man.

Fell in "love" with him after watching his 3 stand up shows, then found audio versions of some more & fell in "love" even deeper. He has wiped out my stereotypic view on America & Americans. And also was very surprising to find an adult who relates to younger generation so much, to me in particular..

Anyway, I think he's great!

I wouldn't really call Henry a celebrity like some other celebrities around the place. He's more of an anti-celebrity. He's great. I've seen him perform with the Henry Rollins band and listened to him speaking. A very intelligent man indeed.

And an enigmatic one, even! :-)

Henry Rollins was rather popular back when Liar came out. I didn't know he got into comedy. Those sketches were hilarious!

It's too bad that he's asexual... Cause he's hot and I like to read!

Current read: 'Being & Time' ...wtf Heidegger! That silly German gets me sometimes.

When Rollins was with Black Flag he was the man. Now he's The Man. As in "The Man."

"My heroes have been sanitized!" she moans.

"Your heroes drive Bentleys," I add, as Iggy Pop hucks Carnival Cruises on the tube.

Cha-ching! (The sound of punk paying off, etc.)

I liked Liar alot! We've all lived it. But ya know, we're ALL lookin' for the saaaaammme thing. A little humor, someone who can teach us something, or better yet, thinks you have something to teach them, and intelligence. And the great sex???..... happens when this stuff is present.
