Hugh,

Have you noticed how few comments you get when you post a pious cartoon? I wonder why?

You are free to express your beliefs, but don't you think it gets in the way of all the interesting stuff you have to offer. Kind of makes you look a bit crazy too - in my personal opinion.

Hope all well.

crazy is good, dave ;-)

besides, comments isn't the only metric.

If comments aren't the only metric then what metrics are you using?

I find your recent move towards christian content deeply disturbing. I don't like it. In my opinion it undermines the quality of your other work.

I suggest that if you want to peddle your beliefs then starting a separate blog for that would be a good idea or at least can I have a "filter religious cartoons" option please?

Hugh,
I think this is beautiful, and I identify with it. Thanks for posting.

I see no contradiction in having god bothering posts on a marketing blog. Pushing superstition, pushing alcohol, what's the difference?

Posted by: Andy at May 9, 2006 3:38 PM

wow. hugh's not allowed to post whatever he damn pleases to his blog?

dude, i love your stuff. i know the marketing is where you make the money, but your blog cards are Something. they're unique. they're genius.

i'm a huge fan of the bitter and angry ones, because i feel it. but i like some every now and then that aren't quite as biting.

dude, whatever you do, don't stop the blog cards.

Hugh,

I know you could really care less about the criticism, but I just wanted to say that I think it's crazy for anyone to ask you to bend your content one way or another. This site has always been a place where you get to do whatever you want. Wasn't that the whole point in the first place?

Gentlemen, if you don't like it, don't read it. If you think he's crazy, more power to you. But why exactly are you looking for a way to selectively censor what you see here? Don't you prefer it when Hugh is Hugh, and not you? I do.

It pisses me off to see people try to censor something just because it might be Christian.

quite frankly, I was just minding my business and following a link from seth godin's blog to you, when i got intrigued by your drawings. because of the "controversy" i'm adding your blog to my gmail webclips.

i loved your marketing stuff that i've seen and found the couple of spiritual posts i saw touching and inspiring. i don't know if they are Christian, but through my lens on the world they look like it since i'm a believer.

thanks for the inspiration on both fronts and you'll see my comments here and there (esp since that's such an important metric)

so tom thinks it's ok to call you a "bit of a christian nut" and disregard lots of what you say from now on...

funny, I'd never heard of tom before you linked to him in your "jesus wants you/jesus has issues" post.

You'd never heard of me? I'd never heard of me until Hugh linked to me. The hits on my site have doubled to 14!

Dave:Have you noticed how few comments you get when you post a pious cartoon? I wonder why?

Guess we're proving that one wrong as we speak aren't we...
