I've been asked to mess around with some cartoon ideas for Stormhoek's marketing collateral etc. See what happens etc.

;-)
Anyone know where I can get an rss feed that will put some business cartoons on my site?
Posted by: Susanna K. Hutcheson at April 15, 2006 5:17 PMI honestly think that the name Stormhoek is the reason you cannot sell wine. This is an OK name or a beer but it is not the name for a wine. Change the name and your sales will double overnight. Don’t use the name ‘gringo’ or you will alienate your primary audience. Hugh, you are no good at naming things.
Posted by: Steve Gall at April 15, 2006 9:03 PM@Steve: Stormhoek is the name of the winery. As far as I know, Hugh hasn't been involved in naming the company.
Why would 'Stormhoek' be an obstacle to selling wine, anyway? They have wines in Italy (Friuli) with pictures of Hitler and Mussolini on the labels, and boy do they sell.
She came for the cartoons ... she stayed for the wine.

Posted by: Brooks Moses at April 16, 2006 8:35 AMSorry about that -- my post is getting eaten by the comment spam filter, and that's what the error message said to do. My post is still getting eaten, so I think I'll email Hugh, as I can't see anything at all wrong with it.
Posted by: Brooks Moses at April 16, 2006 8:37 AMFinally found some Stormhoek the other night Hugh, took it round to friends for dinner and bugger me if it didn't stay in the fridge (not by design, I HTA) so I still haven't tasted it yet... Soon though, soon!
Posted by: Patrick Dodds at April 17, 2006 9:34 PMThe power of blogvertising: So I'm in Sainsbury's, idly browsing the wine shelves, and there's this bottle of Stormhoek Shiraz. I'll have me some of that methinks, I thought they only made Chardonnay.
Not tasted yet, will report back.
