Quick question: Now that I'm putting up high-rez versions of my work, is anyone here making use of it? Printing them out, computer desktops etc.? Just curious.

Posted by: Mike Jones at April 12, 2006 11:53 AMMost definitely. Blue Rage, black white grey 02 and b+w carlisle make great desktops. In fact, they're pretyt much my favourites of all time :)
I've just downloaded blue 6712 to give that a go, too.
Posted by: Tom Hamshere at April 12, 2006 12:01 PMI'm passing them off as my own work, and using the attendant borrowed charisma to demand sordid sexual favours from cute young foundation year art students.
Posted by: CulturalSnow at April 12, 2006 12:01 PMi guess you can't put online big versions of old ones, can you? would love to print out cool sheep picture.
Posted by: tm at April 12, 2006 12:02 PMI don't mind t-shirts, as long as it stays non-commercial.
Posted by: Hugh MacLeod at April 12, 2006 12:05 PMI have printed a couple out on plain paper, and given them out to friends as greeting cards.
Posted by: Dannie Jost at April 12, 2006 12:14 PMMost definitely! Please keep up the enlightening work!
Posted by: Lauren Vargas at April 12, 2006 12:21 PMI used one in a presentation last night. The one about the CEO who plays solitaire.
It hits close to home, unfortunately. My CEO plays Texas Hold-Em online.
I've been printing them out (even before the hi-res versions) and tacking them up in various locations around the office, where ever they are most appropriate or will cause the largest commotion.....
Posted by: Aaron at April 12, 2006 1:33 PMIt sure is hard to juggle both dating and blogging, to be sure … unless one does a date-blog. (No, I don’t reproduce your work but I refer people to your blog.)
Posted by: Jack Yan at April 12, 2006 1:35 PMI will buy Stormhoek as much as I'am able to carry ...
Posted by: Desideria at April 12, 2006 2:50 PMI don't print them, but I like to view the high-res-versions of your pictures.
Posted by: Eugê at April 12, 2006 4:03 PMWhenever I have the same feelings as your images, I immediately post them in my blog of course image linked from and to your server. Is this legally wrong?
Posted by: Balaji at April 12, 2006 4:42 PMI do the same as Balaji above. Please let me know if it is inappropriate and I will remove the images from my blog.
Thanks for the wonderful cartoons, they do cheer up a dull guy :)
Posted by: Danesh at April 12, 2006 5:44 PMI had a detail of the swirly black and white 3D squiggle painting as my desktop for a week. The editor of a style mag where I was freelancing asked about it.
Posted by: robert at April 12, 2006 5:44 PMHis Hughness:
I used your "global microbrand" graphic in the top story on the MarketingProfs blog yesterday:

...with credit in full color, of course.
Posted by: Ann Handley at April 12, 2006 5:45 PMI've been saving the low res versions for as long as I've been reading… I haven't yet saved the high res versions because I can't just drag them from the rss feed to the "hugh folder."
But then, I'm really only saving them so I can look at 'em and giggle again (or use them when appropriate on a blog post with credit, link, etc).
I don't really print *anything* anymore. It all lives in the laptop… I own about three times as much wall-hanging art as I have walls, so it's just easier that way. (hmm... guess I need a nine bedroom house, then).
Still, I like the idea of having the high res versions available. It's a nice gift, and I'm sure that there are a lot of people who will take advantage of it.
As for Stormhoek? Yeah, as soon as it turns up nearby, I'll try it. But I would have done that anyway by this point just out of curiosity. In fact, I'll probably try an experiment to see just how much trouble I can get in by blogging after polishing off a full bottle. heh.
Posted by: john t unger at April 12, 2006 7:58 PMHugh,
Funny stuff. How about a version with one of these alternate responses:
Yes, but I am married to the blogosphere!
OR
Yes, but I am having an affair with the blogosphere!
Posted by: Frank at April 12, 2006 9:03 PMBlue 6712 just became my desktop - I had no idea the oil-type texture detail was in there until I clicked to the hi-res. Nice work.
Posted by: Stace at April 12, 2006 9:21 PMDesktops? Oooh, didn't think of that! At work, we're getting bombarded with "Be the Brand" messages. Wouldn't you know it, the day after a co-worker went off on a sarcastic riff about "Being the Brand", Living the Brand showed up. Just gotta love serendipity...
Posted by: Todd W. at April 12, 2006 10:58 PMI printed the living the brand one out last week :)
(before hi res, I'm soo old skool).
I would probably make use of some of theolder ones - I was actually looking forward to the next t-shirt release! Any chance of some of the old favourites in high-res?
I would probably get them onto t-shirts, but some of them I have used as email signatures when the audience is appropriate
Posted by: Ric at April 12, 2006 11:32 PMI upload them to Flickr, then once I posted my favorites to my blog with a link back to you. You linked to it and it brought me lots of traffic.
I do not print them or make any money from your work, or mine for that matter. Damn, I hate when that happens!

Posted by: Russell Limprecht at April 13, 2006 2:34 AMI shall definitely be printing this one, will get it framed and hang it in my office. My husband says I am a blog bore, but I am totally absorbed by it while he prefers Ebay. Such is life!!
Posted by: Ellee at April 13, 2006 8:12 AMI have published this on my blog today, but women can equally be addicted, I am.
Posted by: Ellee at April 13, 2006 8:24 AMI'm printing out a bunch to give away at Barcamp Bangalore next week. The shop's printer can't do smaller than A3, but they'll print me a sheet for Rs 25 (USD ~0.5).
