Serious is urgent

And it has to do with change.

Leadership is about progress.

There’s no such thing as casual leadership; there’s no such thing as leadership without heart.

Fully-committed, passionate leadership is about growth and progress — all of which is about change.

Kenneth Koch, the author of the poem quoted above, understands the importance of change.

That nothing serious happens without urgency — without a need, and a need for right now.

And the only way we can signify something serious is by how much we’re willing to change.
