Where the wild things are

I’m going to give you a metaphor for business. Tell me what you think.

Journalism school is where you learn how to be a journalist.

But it’s probably not where you learn how to be a great journalist, right?

To be a revolutionary, world-changing journalist, you’ll probably be out working on an oil rig, or in the CIA, or on a dude ranch in Argentina.

What you learn in school is helpful, but the wild stories come from those experiences.

Right?
