The Miracle of Sudden Insight

One of the greatest gifts we have are these sudden, life-changing, life-defining moments of clarity.

Where we see not only the whole world for what it is but our place within it as well.

They happen quite frequently in our youth, then when we hit our thirties they tend to drop off a bit, as the mundane business of job-family-life saturates our every waking hour.

The other thing is, their effect is very fleeting. They might take you to the highest highs of incandescent lucidity one minute, the next you’re back in Realityville, stuck in traffic or watching TV.

Like anything else life-giving, the secret to making the most of them is understanding how rare and precious they really are, and being genuinely grateful every time they come along. Amen to that.
