We love Texas. For the unfamiliar, Texas is pretty much a country within a country. Texans are proud, they’re polite. They love their home and they fight for what they believe in. Good stuff.
Not to mention, it happens to be home to some of the world’s most famous entrepreneurs. Michael Dell, H. Ross Perot, Mark Cuban, the Hunt brothers and of course, J.R. Ewing ;).
Over 80 pigment-infused aluminum prints were hung around The DEC to create the perfect backdrop for conversation. Our “Do Something That Matters” themes were culture change, collaboration, leadership, communication, innovation and inspiration.
It was a great week. Speakeasy described Day One’s symposium as “a no-nonsense, content-rich half-day of marketing goodness” and that set the tone for the rest of the events.
Hugh’s highlight was listening to Brian Clark (founder of Copyblogger) talk about content marketing – and then hanging out with him afterwards. (He’s one of Hugh’s favorite people in that space, a real hero of his. 🙂 )
Hugh and Jason did a series of “fireside chats” on art and business transformation. Most people still don’t know that we spend 90% of our time executing projects around culture and behavior change in large organizations. (By the way…) They talked about how visuals are used to affect change, and some of the management science behind the creative work we do. Yay!
