It’s too easy to roll one’s eyes when you meet YET ANOTHER deluded me-too entrepreneur, with YET ANOTHER me-too idea for a startup, hoping to be YET ANOTHER me-too billionaire unicorn person.
Ditto when you meet another person trying to make it big on Broadway or Hollywood or Publishing or Wall Street or whatever.
“This time will be different! Because this time it will be ME AND MY FRIENDS!!!”
Sure, the odds are against them. Sure, they know diddly squat about the odds, the actual details, the painful realities (you know, like sales, profit margins and stuff).
So what? At least they’re having a go. At least they’re swinging for the fences. At. Least. They. Are. Living.
Far worse is to just sit on your butt, complaining, waiting for miracles.
So go ahead, give yourself permission to be a little delusional, at least while you’re still relatively young. Good luck to you.
