Good fun - I'm enjoying following along from afar. The part I'm not fully understanding is what people's motivation is for carrying on a conversation on the blog. This is $10,000. If I think I have special knowledge of where to go, I'm likely to either a) go look for it if I'm nearby or b) find someone in the area who's willing to split the prize and give my tips only to them. I want this TYPE of marketing thing to succeed as much as the next guy, probably more. I'm just not sure that self-interested pursuit of a single prize (per city/region per week) is the campaign most conducive to interaction via blog.

Perhaps, Rob. That being said, any time money enters the blogosphere, people pay attention.

The idea that the blogosphere should only be for altruistic, non-comercial amateurs is long dead.

i think it's a good strategy, if i had gotten my ass down to the boston aquarium and found the sticker you can bet i'd be talking about it on MY blog and not just the budget one, and those reading my blog (and theirs, and hugh's) will get excited about the upcoming hunts in new cities, and more and more people will be talking about it on blogs, and it will grow virally, as all blog-memes do...
