That is certainly the style of the current American Anglo Empire. The rest of the world has more to play for, and consequently may be executing the real deal just a little bit harder.
In the immortal words spoken by Martin Sheen in the deeply flawed but still brilliant Apocalypse Now, "Charlie [The VietCong] didn't need R+R, he just wanted a bowl of rice and little bit of rat meat."
Still, given that the west is determined exporting all of its know how and competitive edge in the interests of the CEOs next few good quarters, then we are about to find out, I suppose.

You need to stop seeing every conversation as an opportunity to piss and moan about what might have been. Stomp your feet, have one last fit of frustrated sobbing and then get on with the task of finding the next “someone” who both fits your ideology *and* is electable.
