very, very wise...

My Father was a blue collar working man, a bigot, and very angry at what life had thrown at him, but he loved to cook, listen to jazz, and liked Impressionist art. He taught me to see beyond myself and he taught me how to learn. Those who learned the lesson of this little card will say you are very wise, those who received for eighteen years and never did learn about boots or straps will just think you foolish.

So the essence of wisdom really IS to sound like a Kenneth Cole ad...

As an 18 year old on the brink of leaving the 'nest', I 100% agree with you.

No Ed, but the essence of wisdom might sometime be saying something very practical and real in a voice that at least says "listen to me, please."
